How do I get there?

Huatulco has its own international airport allowing easy access for our guests. There are flights to and from Huatulco by Aeromexico and Volaris as well as a flight 2 days a week operated by Volaris direct from Tijuana to Huatulco. The accommodations are a 30-40 minute drive from the airport and the Infinity Surf Resort staff will meet guests on arrival at Huatulco Airport. Guests need to make their own airline reservations to and from Huatulco.

What boards should I bring?

Wave conditions will obviously depend of the swell activity, but as a point of reference we suggest bringing your standard performance shortboard for 3’-5’ conditions, a hybrid in case its 2’-3’, and perhaps a step up for 6’+ reeling conditions. Most of the point breaks give you the option of taking off in the pit or on the shoulder, so you can ride a hybrid shape in overhead waves if you’re more comfortable.

Note: It is important to check with your airline for cargo limitations if your board bag is over 7’6” when packed.

What will I need to pack?

Checklist of Necessities:

  • Strong waterproof sunblock and lots of it (the sun here is powerful)

  • We recommend a surf hat as well.

  • Rashguards and/or surf shirts.

  • Electrolytes, which can be dissolved in water. Long surfs and the sun will drain you.

  • Energy bars

  • Basic tropical clothing. Huatulco is very laid back and you can dine out at even the best restaurants in board shorts and T-shirts.

  • Concise medical kit, including anti-septic cream, compression bandages, moldable wax earplugs (great if you have the misfortune of a very small ear drum tear or perforation), plastic skin, gauze, bandages.

Equipment Checklist:

  • At least one lightweight day bag and/or board sock to protect your boards in transit

  • Extra leashes and wax

  • Suncure resin is always a good idea

  • Extra set of fins

  • Small backpack for your daily needs

How safe is it there?

As we’re sure everyone can appreciate, international travel is not without risks. That being said, Huatulco is considered a very relaxed, laid back community, unspoiled by the mass influx of tourists that have impacted many well-known Mexican destinations.

While we take every precaution to ensure our guests safety, accidents can happen. All guests will be asked to sign a standard waiver before arrival – a routine requirement by most surf tour operators.

What type of Electrical Outlets are there?

No need to worry about voltage converters. The hacienda is outfitted with standard 110 volt outlets.

Is there Internet Access?

Yes. Please note, due to the remote location of our hacienda and our dependence on satellite internet, WIFI connections can, at times, be interrupted or weak.

What if I need medical treatment?

Huatulco has basic medical services that can handle treatment such as stitches, ultrasounds, IV therapy, prescription medication, etc. If critical medical attention were needed, guests would need to fly to Oaxaca or Mexico City.
